Have we lost the Big Friendly?

So what happened to the Texas Big Friendly? I walk into HEB Alone in San Antonio,Texas and I'm in and around people shopping and some employees for about 7 minutes. I purposely looked for the look back to see people's eyes and maybe to get a smile or good morning.

Not one person looked at me or smiled except for the kid that was running the self-service check out. The only smile I got was when I got back to my car and Wilson, my golden doodle, gave me one BIG ASS SMILE.

So what's happening around Texas and what's happening in America?

Have we lost the Big Friendly?

We are gonna test Walmart next!

One day later- Smiling Jack walked into Walmart in Kerrville Texas. A reasonably small town compared to the big mega city of San Antonio.

You know what? I didn't get a lot of smiles or look me in the eye kind of looks. Actually, I was a little disappointed that small town America wasn't much friendlier than Big City America.

That's one of those things that make a person say hmmmmmm?

Just maybe folks have been reading too many newspapers (OR Internet News, or FOX Or CNN!)
